A woman accused her supportive father of rape after he refused to give her money. She has been sentenced to prison.

On the 1st, the Namyangju Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court sentenced a woman, A, to 10 months for defamation, business obstruction, and insult, as per the legal community.

A faced trial for posting 11 online accusations between May and June last year titled "I am a victim of familial sexual violence," defaming her father, B.

Her posts falsely alleged continuous sexual assault by B since age four, claimed her mother also suffered, mentioned a 30 million won settlement, and demanded severe punishment.

A disclosed B's name and business details, causing him operational difficulties.

A also posted six claims that B remarried a woman, C, after an affair.

In February 2021, A sued B for sexual assault damages at Incheon District Court but lacked evidence.

In court, A asserted her posts were true, yet the lawsuit outcome led the court to reject this. No evidence supported A's claims of habitual assault.

The court deemed A's accusations false, noting B's financial support during her studies and her rape accusation following a denied money request for a cafe.

The court stressed, "She spread false information due to financial denial. The reputational damage cannot be undone."

The court cited a high reoffending risk and the victims' desire for severe punishment, influencing the sentencing decision.
